NAESP Statement on Strengthening Educator Workforce Data Act

NAESP is proud to support the bicameral and bipartisan Strengthening Educator Workforce Data Act introduced today by Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) and U.S. Reps. Matthew Cartwright (D-PA) and Zach Nunn (R-IA). “Additional data collection on principals will give greater insights to this essential role which, along with teachers, is the most influential in-school factor for student achievement,” said NAESP Executive Director L. Earl Franks, Ed.D., CAE. “This new data set will also help understand the lifecycle of the principal role, in order to shore up supports at a time when the turnover rate is high and the pipeline is weak.”
