Board Election

Each year, the NAESP membership elects new members to the NAESP Board of Directors.

Elections for Vice President and Zone Directors

Every spring, NAESP conducts an election for the next vice president, which is a three-year term. Eligible NAESP voting members receive an email with a customized link to cast their vote. Following the election, the Election Audit Board certifies the election results for the office of vice president. NAESP officers serve the first year as vice president, the second year as president-elect and the third year as president.

NAESP members who are interested in running for vice president must obtain the electronic application and designated forms from the NAESP office. Applications must be submitted to NAESP by Oct. 1. In mid-November, the Nominating Committee reviews all applications and determines at least two candidates for the ballot of vice president.

Zone directors also serve a three-year term, commencing Aug. 1 following their election, with three members rolling off each year. Each Zone has their own procedures for conducting elections. Members interested in running for Zone director must obtain the electronic application and designated forms from the NAESP office. Applications must be submitted to NAESP by Nov. 1. Within 30 days, all applications will be disseminated to the appropriate Zone directors who are responsible for chairing a process with the NAESP state representatives in the Zone for electing the new Zone director.

Two at-large directors may be elected by the NAESP Board of Directors to serve a three-year term to represent the needs of the association, as determined by the board, with an at-large director’s term commencing Aug. 1 following their election.
