Vanessa Mori has led Endeavour Elementary School, a Platinum STEM School, as principal for three years, preceded by three years as principal at Bluff Ridge Elementary. Under her guidance, Endeavour was named first in the state for math proficiency at 80 percent, 35 percent higher than the state average, and third in language arts at 71 percent, which is 24 percent higher than the state average. Mori ensures that student achievement is celebrated every day, as well as at a culminating yearly assembly. Her focus on Social Emotional Learning programming, including implementing restorative practice questioning, has led to fewer office behavior referrals and an overall enhancement of school culture. Mori is proud of the school’s successful vision for 21st-century learning, with 1:1 iPad and laptop delivery for 900 students, along with all teachers using Canvas as a learning management system to assist in remote learning. Working closely with a diverse team of educators, STEM district leaders, and Boeing representatives, Mori has helmed the development of STEM-centered learning at Endeavour. Students enjoy learning coding, robotics, and problem-solving, and Mori is committed to increasing diversity in extracurricular STEM activities by ensuring fee waivers for students in need. Mori has earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Weber State University, an M.Ed. from Western Governors University, and an Administrative Supervisory License from Utah State University.
