Sara M. Weaver

Weaver has served in the field of education for thirty-four years and prioritizes a learner-centered, personalized approach that focuses on customizing teaching for each child’s individual learning path. As Assistant Principal and Principal, Weaver has served in the administration at Eastside New Vision Charter School for twelve years, where Warren School District Superintendent Bobby Acklin describes her leadership as visionary. She was the first principal to install standards-based education at Eastside, and has remained hands-on in its implementation throughout the district on all levels. Weaver has also focused on cultivating a positive school climate, implementing the “Leader in Me” program based on Stephen Covey’s work and participating in a pilot program by the Arkansas Public Resource Center based on the work of Mike Rutherford. She has overseen community partnerships resulting in free dental services and BMI screenings, as well as backpack and coat donations for students in need. She holds a B.S. in Education from the University of Arkansas, Monticello, a M.S. in Education from Henderson State University, and a degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas, Monticello. In addition, she is a three-year graduate of the Arkansas Leadership Academy for Master Principals.
