Nikol Youngberg has served Flour Bluff Primary & Elementary Schools for 12 years and has served since 2021 as EC-4 Curriculum and Instruction Director. During her tenure, Youngberg integrated two previously separate institutions sharing a campus and facilities, while maintaining steady instructional leadership and implementing whole child initiatives embracing the full spectrum of needs foundational to academic success. When it comes to curriculum, Youngberg draws on her expertise to align instruction with core standards, while also ensuring that fidelity to standards does not come at the expense of other important areas for young learners, like leadership, the arts, and community service. Youngberg has led the implementation of MTSS programs to differentiate instruction, developed afterschool clubs to prioritize play and physical wellness, developed additional school safety measures, and introduced SEL programs focused on character development and providing support to students experiencing life transitions. As a military-connected campus, Flour Bluff earned Purple Star Designation for providing high-quality support to students from military families. The school recently scored a “B” on the STAAR Assessment, demonstrating growth beyond pre-pandemic levels. Youngberg holds an Ed.D. and a Master’s in Special Education from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and a Bachelor’s in Childhood Development and Family Studies from California State University, Long Beach. She holds additional certifications in ELAR, Special Education, ESL, Diagnostics, and Superintendency.
