Nancy Antoine has a long career of service to Minnesota students and families, with 14 years of classroom experience and 19 years as principal. Since 2007, she has served as principal of Bridgewater Elementary School, where she is proud of having shifted to embracing data as a guide for targeted instruction that ensures student success. Committed to providing and cultivating consistent, culturally responsive leadership in her building, Antoine has led multi-stakeholder survey processes to identify areas for targeted growth and support for students and teachers alike. She has worked closely with teachers and community partners to integrate STEAM tools and resources into the curriculum, including a Maker Space that has created new opportunities for community participation and transformed student engagement by creating hands-on, project-based learning experiences. Compassionate and naturally attuned to the needs of the whole child, Antoine played a broad community support role throughout the pandemic. She has been appointed by two governors to serve on the Board of School Administrators, where she currently serves as board chair. A committed mentor, she has supported multiple teachers in making the transition into leadership. Antoine holds a K-12 Administrative License from St. Mary’s University, an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Thomas, and a B.S. in Mathematics Education from Moorhead State University.
