#NAESP19: What’s In Store
Our 2019 NAESP Pre-K–8 Principals Conference is jam-packed with quality content you can take back to implement in your schools right away.
The 2019 NAESP Pre-K-8 Principals Conference is just around the corner, July 10-12 in Spokane, Washington. The conference and pre-conference sessions are jam-packed with quality content you can take back to implement in your schools right away. Here’s what’s in store.
Pre-Conference Sessions
Join us a day early, on July 9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., for one of two exceptional pre-conference sessions.
Session No. 1: Navigating Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Science, Principal Practice, and Practical Application With Stephanie Jones
Principals understand the importance of SEL and its impact on schools, however often they struggle with taking theory to practice. This intensive training, led by an SEL expert Stephanie Jones, will provide a framework for understanding SEL and bring the conversation full circle to provide an in-depth guide to 25 evidence-based SEL programs for elementary schools that profiles both lesson-based/curriculum and non-curricular approaches.
Session No. 2: Swimming in the Deep End: What Does It Take? With Jennifer Abrams
No matter what role we play in a school or district, we all want to make a difference. However, things move fast in education these days, and often we are left confused, overwhelmed, and not as successful as we could be. We need to build up a skill set of effective decision-making capabilities, resistance management communication strategies, and our stress tolerance. This workshop with Jennifer Abrams will provide support, a laugh, and some cognitive, social and psychological resources to help you communicate more effectively, confidently, and collaboratively, no matter your role.
Attendees can choose to attend one of these pre-conference sessions for an additional fee.
Conference Sessions
Our conference formally kicks off July 10, with more than 1,500 industry experts, researchers, policy-makers, and practitioners from across the country and around the world. In all, attendees will have the opportunity to choose from more than 100 educator-developed sessions.
As always, the conference will focus on topics that are unique to elementary and middle-level educators, connecting attendees to colleagues and strategies that will help them take their careers, schools, and students to the next level.
This year’s topic strands are:
- Innovative Strategies Through Technology and Techniques
- Instructional Leadership
- Arrays of Management
- Ethics and Equity in Schools
