NAESP Executive Director L. Earl Franks, Ed.D., CAE, will be inducted into the Alabama Educational Leadership Hall of Fame at Troy University in November.

“I am extremely honored and humbled to have been selected for induction into this illustrious group of Alabama educational visionaries who have made state, regional, and national contributions as leaders in the field of education,” said Franks. “My successes can largely be attributed to the countless people and organizations who have invested and supported me throughout my career. These individuals have made an enormous impact on my life for which I will be forever grateful. I offer my sincere appreciation to the Hall of Fame governing board for this significant recognition.”

Troy University, the Alabama Association of School Boards, and the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools select individuals who have shown great achievements and leadership in education in Alabama. According to the groups, Franks’ achievements moved beyond state boundaries.

“Dr. Franks’ career is indicative of his commitment to education, not only in Alabama but across the nation,” said Dr. Dionne Rosser-Mims, interim Dean of the College of Education, which hosts the Hall of Fame. “His leadership charted a course that has greatly impacted the direction of education in our state.”

Before becoming NAESP’s executive director in 2017, Franks served as executive director of the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools. Prior to that, he worked in public education as a principal, and before that, as a band director.

Congratulations, Dr. Franks for this well-deserved honor.
