Enhance Your Conference Experience with Technology; BYO Handheld Device

Don’t leave home for the 2012 annual conference in Seattle without your iPad, SmartPhone, or other handheld device. There will be a number of ways for you to employ the latest technology to improve your experience, starting with using the new free 2012 annual conference and expo mobile app to plan your schedule and keep up with the latest conference news. You can find the app by scanning the QR code found on page 54 of your program searching for “NAESP 2012: on your device, or visiting http://crwd.cc/naesp2012.

Bring your iPad, smart phone, or other handheld device to Room 303 of the convention center and immerse yourself in the free, Web-based ASSISTments assessment tool, playing the role of both student and teacher to gain the full experience. The web-based assessment tool supports all subjects, with a robust repository of content that teachers can use to:

  • Write or select specific questions to support classroom instruction;
  • Connect data to instruction and student achievement;
  • Give students immediate feedback;
  • Get instant reports to help inform instruction and delivery; and
  • Assign targeted work to each student directly.

The hands-on mini workshops are being held on Thursday, March 22 from 8:30 to 8:50 a.m. and 9 to 9:20 a.m.; on Friday, March 23 from 9:15 to 9:35 a.m., 1 to 1:20 p.m., 1:30 to 1:50 p.m., and 4:30 to 4:50 p.m.; and Saturday, March 24 from 9:15 to 9:35 a.m., 9:45 to 10:05 a.m., 12:45 to 1:05 p.m., and 1:15 to 1:35 p.m.

For 2012 full-conference attendees the learning can continue for a year. Full-conference attendees will have free access to 35 hours of recorded sessions, including handouts and slides through NAESP’s E-Conference Learning Center at http://naesp.sclivelearningcenter.com.
