New Center Is Lifting Up Leaders for Children with Disabilities
NAESP has partnered on the new Lead IDEA Center, which provides research-informed professional learning services that support early childhood intervention and pre-K-12 school leaders in their efforts to efficiently implement IDEA and improve systems serving children with disabilities and their families.
NAESP is pleased to announce our partnership in the new federally funded Lead IDEA Center. The Lead IDEA Center provides research-informed professional learning services that support early childhood intervention and pre-K-12 school leaders as they work to effectively implement the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and improve systems serving children with disabilities and their families.
The center collaborates with local district education and early intervention program leaders to create high-quality, equitable learning environments for infants, toddlers, children, and youth who benefit from support and services provided under IDEA. Together, we are designing a suite of services and materials to develop and strengthen the knowledge, skills, and competencies of early childhood and pre-K-12 leaders in implementing IDEA.
Opportunities to Engage with the Lead IDEA Center
In designing our services and materials, the center deeply values the perspectives and experiences of early intervention program and pre-K-12 leaders. Over the next six months, the center will be offering multiple short and long-term opportunities for leaders to inform and shape these efforts.
