Elementary, Middle School Principals to Gather in Orlando for The NAESP Pre-K–8 Principals Conference
Principals to invest in effective school leadership strategies in preparation for upcoming school year.
June 21, 2018—Alexandria, VA—Elementary and middle-level principals from around the nation will gather for the National Association of Elementary School Principals’ Pre-K–8 Principals Conference, July 9–11 in Orlando, Florida. Preconference activities begin on Sun., July 8.
#NAESP18 is the largest national conference for elementary and middle-level principals. With a laser focus on pre-K through grade 8 school leaders, the conference will address topics aligned to the Professional Standards for Education Leaders (PSEL), such as equity, engagement, and building professional capacity.
The conference connects school leaders with best practices, success stories, and practical solutions to lead their schools toward success. Entire strands of the more than 100 conference sessions will focus on critical topics in education leadership that impact principals every day: educational equity, effective learning communities, technology, transforming schools, and more. Highlights of this year’s conference include:
Insight from Education Experts. Some of the brightest minds in education will share fresh thinking and innovative strategies. Keynote speakers are: New York Times best-selling author Sean Covey; Sal Khan, founder of Khan Academy, a free online learning resource; Olympic gold medal winner, Jackie Joyner-Kersey, and Daniel Pink, the New York Times best-selling author of When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing.
Updates on New Education Research. Conference attendees will gain insight on the latest education research: The Pre-K–8 School Leader in 2018: A 10 Year Study; The Principals Guide to Building Culturally Responsive Schools; and Beyond the Classroom: What Principals Want When It Comes to Afterschool and Summer Learning.
Innovation Rotation Experience. In this highly engaging session, three energetic pacesetters will present simultaneously in a well-designed and coordinated format that features electronic listening devices. 10th Annual NAESP Annual Community Service Day. For the 10th year, principals from across the country will volunteer their time to build a playground during NAESP’s Annual Community Service Day. With generous support from Landscape Structures, 100 principals will install a playground at Catalina Elementary School in Orlando, Florida. (Sun., July 8, 8:30 a.m. to noon, 2448 29th St, Orlando, Florida 32805).
The conference experience will also feature an Exhibit Hall, which includes more than 100 industry-leading vendors with innovative services and products for schools.
