2020-21 VA End Veteran Homelessness Challenge

Since 2018, NAESPASCA, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Homeless Programs Office have partnered to organize the End Veteran Homelessness Challenge, a program that allows student councils and their schools to coordinate fundraising and donation activities with their local VA centers.

The 2020-21 challenge, which typically takes place in the fall, won’t look quite the same this year due to ongoing COVID-19 precautions. In lieu of having students make donations through their schools and compete to be the school to contribute the most, students are now able to donate directly to their local VA centers, continuing the mission of helping homeless veterans obtain affordable housing and everyday household essentials.

Even though we are unable to host the challenge this year, we hope that students will still be in the spirit of participation and continue to raise funds and/or donate to their local VA Homelessness Program.

How to Donate:

  1. Reach out to your local VA Center and let them know you’d like to make a donation for homeless veterans; they will coordinate to ensure your donation makes it to a veteran in need.
  2. After you’ve made your donation, let Nikki Sparks know so that your contribution can be tracked.
