#Apple EDU Leaders: Lead Learning, Change the World

Session notes from “#Apple EDU Leaders: Lead Learning, Change the World,” presented by Bill Ziegler.

What was the speaker’s main message?

Principals can use technology to lead learning, amplify student voices, and change the world.

What was the speaker’s best quote?

“When technology is created for everyone then anyone can achieve their goals.”

What were the top 5 ideas from the session?

  1. Listen to the student voice and empower them to tell their story.
  2. Make your first day of school your best day of school.
  3. Use the Apple Clips app to record videos about your school.
  4. Use students and Instagram takeover to amplify student voice.
  5. Listen and engage with Ziegler on his podcast, “Lead the Way.”

What is one strategy that you will implement immediately?

Use Apple Clips to record short videos and edit them. Then upload the videos to my principal Instagram account.

What is one strategy that will help you with instructional leadership?

Ziegler encouraged everyone to “change, innovate, and create” new experiences for our students and give them opportunities to use their voice.

What is one idea that you want to learn more about?

I want to talk with Ziegler and other principals more about becoming more innovative with creating opportunities for student voice. We want to create empowerment in our students.

What are three resources you will check out?

  1. Apple Clips app
  2. Canva app
  3. Quiver app

I can’t wait to tell my teachers about this idea:

I want to create a magical atmosphere for the first day of school. Zeigler described how he makes his first day of school the best day of the year.
