Projects

“Blue and Gold”

The main goal of this project was to inspire Pre-K 3 through 8th grade students to contribute individually while working together as a team, helping to build pride, unity, and a strong sense of community at school. School was placed into two color team from Pre-K 3 to 8th grade (Blue and Gold). Students participated daily in organized  activities such as monochromatic day, crazy hair/hat day, spirit wear. Student Council created a point system for all the activities to track participation. Daily tabulations were calculated by the student council and announced daily and recorded and posted in a prominent place in the school for all to see. The cheers and groans were audible through out the hallways when points announced.

“Snack Shack”

Student Council came up with the Snack Shack project as a way to raise money for the school Angel Fund. After pricing the snacks and determining the great expense purchasing them would incur, the Student Council determined that there would not be a significant profit margin and so, the Student Council members donated all foods to be sold, thus ensuring 100% of the sales would go to the Angel Fund. They advertised in the News and Notes (weekly email to parent ) and daily announcements. Student Council utilized a cash box and petty cash from the school’s financial office. Snack sales were during both elementary and middle school lunches.
