“Annual Campaign, Election Week, and Oath Taking Ceremony”

The Annual Student Council Campaign and Election Week is an exciting and anticipated event where students can engage in the democratic process and develop leadership skills. The process starts with students filing their candidacy and participating in interviews to share their goals. During this week, candidates campaign by sharing their ideas, and students vote for the leaders they think will best represent them. On election day, students vote to choose their new leaders. This event encourages student involvement, leadership, and responsibility. It ends with the Oath Taking Ceremony, where the new student council officers officially take their positions and pledge to serve their classmates with dedication and integrity.

“Paintification and Campus Clean Up Drive”

This project focuses on improving the school’s appearance through a campus clean-up and painting in preparation for the annual Pistor Middle School Car show fundraising event. Volunteers helped to clean the campus, paint walls, and add vibrant colors, including painting the Student Council office name for pride. With almost 800 students in this middle school, this year’s goal is to work within the school community to enhance our shared space. We looked for volunteers to assist with the work and donations for supplies like paint and cleaning materials. It is through paintification and campus clean-up which is to improve the school’s appearance and create a more welcoming and inspiring environment for students and staff and in preparation for the annual Pistor Middle School Car show fundraising event. Volunteers worked together to clean the campus, paint walls, and add vibrant colors, including painting the Student Council office name to foster pride.

“Ruby Bridges Walk Year 2”

This half-day event brings students and teachers together for a brief talk and program led by student council, encouraging everyone to stand up against bullying and support each other. It helps create a safe and supportive environment, reminding everyone to embrace differences and promote respect and acceptance in the school.

“Halloween Dance Party and Glow In the Dark Dance”

During Halloween, the Student Council organized a Halloween Dance Party featuring a Haunted House Maze which is a fun and spooky event. The afternoon kicks off with a lively dance floor filled with Halloween music and decorations, where students can show off their best moves and costumes. For extra thrills, the haunted house maze offers creepy surprises with actors dressed as ghouls and monsters to give everyone a scare. Students can enjoy the spooky atmosphere in their costumes, grab treats, take photos, or challenge friends to make it through the maze. It’s an afternoon of dancing, scares, and Halloween fun! The party is free of charge. The purpose of organizing the Halloween Dance Party is to give students a fun, safe, and memorable way to celebrate Halloween. The event brings students together for dancing, creative costumes, and spooky thrills, while building school spirit and community. By offering both a dance and a haunted house maze, the event encourages students to have fun, socialize, and enjoy some friendly scares in a positive and inclusive environment.

On Valentine’s Day, the Student Council held a fundraiser to support the upcoming Glow in the Dark Dance Party. Activities included selling candy grams, balloons, flowers, cards and face paint. To show gratitude towards teachers and administrators, personalized cards, flowers, and balloons were handcrafted by council members. The school was adorned with red and pink hearts, creating a joyful and loving ambiance throughout the halls. This year, a Glow in the Dark theme embellished the cafeteria. On Wednesday, February 26th, Student Council hosted a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) Glow in the Dark Dance Party during 6th and 7th period in the cafeteria. The theme is Glow in the Dark, and students are encouraged to wear white or something that glows in the dark! The rest of the dress code policy still apply. The dance is free of charge. Students who meet ALL three of the following requirements were invited to attend. 1) Attendance: Good attendance with no unexcused absences or excessive tardies during this quarter is required. 2) Behavior: Students must have no Level 3 or higher violations from January 2025 until the present date. 3) Class Grades: In order to attend the dance, students must have passed all their classes, including electives, as indicated on the Quarter 3 Progress Report. During the dance, council members were involved in various tasks such as managing programs, overseeing the STUCO store, food preparation, supervising the dance floor, and greeting attendees at the entrance. The student council aims to host a PBIS Glow in the Dark dance party that fosters a joyful and welcoming environment for students to gather and celebrate friendship and love in a secure and enjoyable setting. Every aspect of the event, including the choice of venue between the cafeteria and courtyard, music selection, themed decorations, and refreshments, has been meticulously planned by the student council members. They have also taken steps to publicize the event through various channels such as social media, the school website, and newsletters to generate awareness and enthusiasm among all students.
