Projects

“Digital Citizenship Week”

Digital Citizenship week was a week-long promotion to educate students on digital citizenship and online safety. Each day of the week had a dress up theme and students participating in mini lessons on online safety and digital citizenship in class.

“Hearts for Hygiene”

Counselors on campus saw a need for students to have access to hygiene products. Student Council and school counselors partnered together to collect items for the closets. During the month of February students donated new hygiene products and received the school currency as an incentive. All items were then placed in the community hygiene closet.

“Glow Your Heart Out”

Glow your Heart Out is a behavior incentive on campus. Students who do not receive behavior consequences are allowed to attend. The incentive is a glow party, so the gym is full of black lights. Student Council painted faces with black light crayons to raise money.

“New Student Tours”

The student council members created goodie bags for new students. Inside the bags the council put candy, snacks and Roberts Middle School pencils. We also provided a card for the student to write down their ID and homeroom teacher’s name on; these two pieces of information are important for the student to be successful on any given school day. After a student is enrolled a member of the student council is called down to the front office to give them their bag of goodies and a planner. The student council member would then give them a tour of the school.
