Fannie Green, Ed.D. has served Mississippi students and families as an educator and administrator for over 30 years. As principal of Camden Elementary, Green has had a transformative impact on school culture, expanding what students, families, and teachers believe is possible and achievable. Early in her tenure, Green observed how many of her Title 1 Camden students formed limiting beliefs about what their futures could hold, even at a young age. In response, Green launched a College Tours initiative to inspire students to attain their highest potential. The program gives Honor Roll students in third through fifth grade the chance to visit local colleges to gain exposure to opportunities available through higher education. The popularity of the program has sparked greater motivation in students to make Honor Roll, with numbers growing steadily each year, and has encouraged more school-focused conversations at home. As an instructional leader, Green has also steered a collective shift toward data-informed decision-making, equipping teachers with the tools for responsive differentiated instruction, yielding consistent positive results for students. Through consistency and collaboration, Camden has earned A-status for accountability, reflecting improved academic outcomes, strengthened culture, and shared commitment to excellence. Green was honored as Madison County Schools 2015 Administrator of the Year, 2015 MDE Congressional District 2 Administrator of the Year, and the Mississippi Association of Colleges for Teacher Education 2025 Outstanding Administrator for Alcorn State University. Green holds an Ed.D. and an Ed.S. credential in Educational Leadership from William Carey University, an M.Ed. from Mississippi College, and a B.A. from Alcorn State University.
