Projects

“Monthly Character Traits”

The goal of this project was to encourage students to grow into better versions of themselves by focusing on monthly character traits like organization, respect, goal setting, and community involvement. Since the students run everything, they take ownership of their work and personal growth. Jr. Leadership Team members voted on the monthly traits, created videos and posters for teachers to share, and brainstormed activities to help students apply each trait in their daily lives. The project successfully encouraged students to take ownership of their growth by focusing on important character skills, and helped build a stronger school community. Teachers also reported positive discussions and participation in their classes.

“Kindness Challenge”

The goal of this project was to encourage students to give back to their communities and bring awareness by donating items to local organizations. As an online school, our student council researched donation sites across California to help students find local places to give. They compiled a list of Goodwill centers, pet shelters, and food pantries, then created virtual posters to share on social media and with other classes. Once the project launched, students donated items and submitted photos of themselves giving back. At the end of the week, we celebrated their generosity by featuring them in our school highlights and on social media. The project encouraged students and their families to give back by highlighting the impact of donating and strengthening their connection to the community.
