Projects

“Stuffin’ Pantries”

The student council aimed to inspire kindness, generosity, and leadership among our students while making a meaningful impact in our community by organizing a school-wide canned food drive to support families in need. Student leaders promoted the Stuffin’ Pantries Food Drive; collected, counted, and sorted the donations; and played a key role in motivating and encouraging their peers and organizing a party for the classes with the highest donations. A total of 1,080 cans were collected, surpassing this year’s goal and more than doubling last year’s collection total. However, the success of the project goes beyond the number of cans collected – it was about creating a community culture of generosity, empathy, and service that will have a lasting impact on our students.

“Bookmark Your Success”

The main goal of the Bookmark Your Success was to encourage and uplift students during the state testing period. The student council set out to design and distribute at least 500 bookmarks to ensure that every STAAR test-taker received a token of motivation. Student council members took the lead in designing and creating motivational bookmarks with their own unique illustrations, incorporating positive affirmations and test-taking strategies to encourage confidence and focus. Bookmarks were personally handed out to the student body by student council members, fostering a sense of school-wide support, as students felt encouraged by their peers.
