Projects

“Weekend Warrior Snack Pack Program for Childhood Hunger”

Recognizing that weekends can be a challenging time for many low-income families, and to ensure that every child has access to wholesome, tasty snacks, the student council developed the Weekend Warrior Snack Pack Program to provide healthy bags of food to children in the surrounding area to combat food insecurity. The council packed 100 bags with healthy treats and positive affirmation cards, while learning how community service projects contribute to their personal development and team dynamics.

“Ocelot Clinic Supply Drive “

Amid recent budget reductions, the student council organized a school-wide supply drive for the campus clinic to ensure the school nurse has the essential resources to maintain a safe and healthy environment at Aldridge Elementary School. To encourage involvement and increase donations of supplies by all students, they offered grade-level incentives for the highest donors. Over 500 items were donated by students, parents, and local community stakeholders. The Ocelot Clinic Supply Drive not only created a fun, friendly competition amongst grade levels, but fostered a sense of community and shared responsibility within the school.
