“Coastal Center for Hope and Healing Donation Drive”
Our leaders decided to have a donation drive for the Coastal Center for Hope and Healing. We emailed the shelter for items that are needed, created flyers, spread the word, and collected the items. Each leader held a small presentation at each classroom and spoke about a donation drive and the items that are needed. We received donations from families and an organization that helps the school.
“Mindful Breathing Sticks”
Coping strategies are great to use when experiencing certain feelings such as anxiousness, frustration, sadness, etc. Our leaders created Mindful Breathing sticks for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to use before the start of state/district testing. The sticks allow the students to practice breathing in and out by moving the beads from one end to another.
