“Student Leaders”
The main goal of this project is to have 5th grade students learn how to be positive leaders. They are not only focused on their own needs but they also gained a bigger insight about the needs of others. The selection process is rigorous and starts while students are still in 4th grade. Candidates must meet specific criteria to be considered, including maintaining a clean discipline record and being willing to dedicate time outside of the regular school schedule. Each Student Leader agrees to give up having lunch and recess with their classmates and instead have lunch with other Student Leaders once a week as well as meet with their two buddy classes and their classroom in order to fulfill their responsibilities.
