“Meet the Mayor”
The advisor contacted the local city government to schedule to tour and organized transportation to the city offices. Student Council members had a great time meeting the Mayor, Fire Chief, and Police Chief.
“Food Bags and Clothing Closet”
Students arrived at the clothing closet for our school district to fill the food bags and to organize clothing donations for the clothing closet. Students listened to direction from our district social services director and quickly got into action. They counted bags, filled the bags, and loaded the bags into designated totes for each school location.
“Boots and Bling School Dance”
The project the council selected as their 7th and 8th grade special event was a dance/carnival. The council surveyed 7th and 8th grade students to vote on a theme for the dance. Boots and Bling received the most votes. Council members voted on the snack and drink to serve at the dance. Council members also worked on decorations for the dance. On the day of the dance, council members assisted with the setup and breakdown of dance related equipment and displays.
“Food Collection for Ozark Share and Care”
Student Council members discussed a food drive project and got the approval of our principal to conduct the project for one week prior to Christmas. Council members and advisor created signage for the project and placed the collection boxes at the front of our school. Council members greeted students every morning for five days during the food drive. At the end of the food drive, the food was boxed up and taken to Ozark Share and Care.
