Projects

“Food Distribution”

The community food distribution project was designed to provide essential food supplies to individuals and families facing food insecurity. The council organized food collection drives, gathering donations from students, staff, and community members. These items were then sorted and packaged for distribution. To maximize outreach, the council partnered with local businesses, food banks, and volunteers to ensure a steady supply of food. Distribution events were held at easily accessible locations, where families could receive nutritious food items free of charge. The project aimed to foster community support, alleviate hunger, and promote social responsibility among participants.

“5th Grade Findlay Fun Day Student Orientation”

The 5th Grade Findlay Fun Day Student Orientation Project was designed to welcome and support incoming students as they transitioned into their new school environment. The event aimed to ease their anxieties, provide them with essential information, and connect them with peers and staff to foster a sense of belonging.

The project included a series of structured activities, such as campus tours, icebreaker games, informational sessions, and a mentorship program. Student council members played a key role in guiding new students, answering their questions, and sharing insights about school life. Teachers, administrators, and counselors also participated by introducing academic expectations, school policies, and available student support services.

In addition to these activities, new students received orientation packets containing maps, school rules, event calendars, and club information. The orientation concluded with a Q&A session where students could voice concerns and seek clarification. By the end of the project, new students had a better understanding of their new school and felt more confident about starting their academic journey.

“Spirit Week”

The Spirit Week Project was a week-long event designed to boost school spirit, student engagement, and community involvement through themed activities, dress-up days, and interactive competitions. Organized by the student council, Spirit Week aimed to create a sense of pride, inclusivity, and fun among students and staff.

Each day of the week featured a different theme, such as Pajama Day, Twin Day, Throwback Day, or School Colors Day, encouraging students to express their creativity and enthusiasm.

“Leadership Induction”

The Leadership Induction Project aimed to introduce and cultivate leadership qualities in new student council members by providing them with the tools and experiences needed to succeed in their roles. The project began with a series of leadership workshops that focused on essential skills like communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and ethical decision-making. These workshops helped inductees understand the responsibilities of being a student leader and how to engage with peers and faculty effectively.

In addition to the workshops, each new inductee was paired with an experienced council member for personalized mentoring. This mentorship allowed the new leaders to receive guidance and advice as they navigated their roles, fostering a sense of community and support within the council.

The final aspect of the project was the creation of Leadership Commitment Pledges, where each inductee pledged to uphold values like responsibility, integrity, and service to the school community. The pledges served as a formal declaration of their commitment to their new leadership roles.

The project was designed to not only build leadership skills but also to instill a strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and ethical conduct, ensuring that the new leaders were prepared to serve their school community effectively.
