The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kid’s Take Down Tobacco National Day of Action is an opportunity for us to come together, stand up to Big Tobacco, expose the tricks the tobacco industry uses to lure kids into addiction, and call for change. With your participation, our collective voice is stronger.
Tobacco companies are aggressively marketing deadly and addictive products while raking in billions of dollars in profits. They’re fighting policies that would reduce tobacco use. They’re developing new products to hook kids, using fun flavors and massive doses of nicotine. But we can stop them.
Join us April 1, 2025, to take down Big Tobacco! Here are two ways you can get involved:
On The Take Down Tobacco National Day of Action, hundreds of events will take place across the country calling for change to protect kids from nicotine addiction and hold the tobacco industry accountable. Here’s how you can participate in your school and community.
No event is too small to have an impact, and no one is too young or too old to participate. Tabling at schools or rallying with a big group, we want to hear about it and support you.
Once you have a plan, make sure you register your event to get counted and so we can connect you with new and updated resources to enhance your event, including eligibility for media assistance and support.
Here are a couple of tips:
- If you’re hosting a public event like a rally or demonstration, make sure to give your local media a heads up so they can cover the event.
- When posting about your event on social media, tag #TakeDownTobacco so we can see what you’re doing and help cross-promote.
Find event ideas on the plan our event page, and visit our resources page for free downloadable materials, sample social posts and graphics, and more.
Why do you #TakeDownTobacco?
Share why you think it’s important to stand up to Big Tobacco, and we’ll help amplify your message. We’ll give you a personalized “I #TakeDownTobacco because …” graphic you can post on your social channels.
Your post will also appear on our national map below, and we’ll use some of them in our own social posts, emails and messages to legislators. Reach out to Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids at dayofaction@tobaccofreekids.org with questions.
