School Leaders from Across the Nation to Gather in Louisville for NAESP Pre-K–8 Principals Conference
After another year of uncertainty, principals will come together in person to recharge and prepare for post-pandemic leadership.
Alexandria, VA—Elementary and middle-level principals from across the nation will gather July 15-17 in Louisville for the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Pre-K–8 Principals Conference. The annual gathering, which is the largest national conference for elementary and middle-level principals, is especially significant as schools shift to meet new demands and principals prepare to master new responsibilities.
“According to the Leaders We Need Now research series, the job of the principal has expanded and shifted in unprecedented ways,” said NAESP Executive Director L. Earl Franks, Ed.D., CAE. “We’re proud to be able to offer high-quality, standards-based professional learning that can help principals not only adjust to recent disruptions but also return to their schools in the fall ready to thrive.”

Annual Community Service Day. For more than a decade, principals from across the country have volunteered their time to build a playground during the NAESP Community Service Day. With the generous support from Landscape Structures, principals this year will install a playground at Klondike Park on Thursday, July 14, from 8 a.m. to noon, at 3809 Klondike Lane, Louisville, KY 40218. The park is next to Klondike Lane Elementary and is used by the school and community.
Insight from Education Experts. Some of the brightest minds in education will share fresh thinking and innovative strategies to lead schools. General session speakers include the Start With Why author Simon Sinek; Barbara Whye, who is the vice president of inclusion and diversity at Apple; and motivational speaker and former University of Tennessee football player Inky Johnson.
Honoring the Nation’s Best Assistant Principals. NAESP is pleased to honor the 2022 class of National Outstanding Assistant Principals. Learn more about the awardees.
Learning Lounge and NAESP Centers for Advancing Leadership. These sessions will enable conference attendees to expand their principal networks and share innovative ideas they have used to move their leadership and their schools well beyond the status quo.
The conference experience will also feature an exhibit hall, which includes industry-leading vendors with innovative services and products for schools.
