NAESP Statement in Response to Shooting at Robb Elementary School
The Uvalde, Texas, shooting is just the latest that should prompt strengthened policies and increased funding for school safety and student support services.
NAESP joins the nation in again mourning the senseless and tragic loss of life resulting from a school shooting.
“The families at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, deserve to send their children to school with the security that they will return at the end of the day unharmed,” said NAESP’s executive director, L. Earl Franks, Ed.D., CAE. “That is the promise that every school makes to the students in its care. It’s up to the adults to make policies that reflect this value.”
