Julie Davis

Julie Davis

Executive Director, OAESA. Upon graduation from North Park University, Julie began her teaching career in the Chicago area. After relocating to Columbus, she taught and then served as a teacher leader in the Gahanna-Jefferson School District. She obtained her master’s degree from The Ohio State University, and her administrative certification work was done at Ashland University. Her Doctor of Education degree with a concentration in Organizational Leadership was earned at Nova Southeastern University. Julie’s experience as a SAIL participant was a critical component of her doctoral studies and accounted for the required specialization aspect of the degree.

Julie has had the opportunity to serve as a principal in the South-Western City School District, Upper Arlington City School District, and Grandview Heights City School District. She spent four years as the professional development director for the Central Ohio Regional School Improvement Team providing support and professional development to educators in 46 school districts in and around the Columbus area. She has been the Director of SAIL for Education since July 2006 and the Executive Director of OAESA since July 2008. She is also an adjunct professor for several universities.

Each assignment in Julie’s career has afforded her the opportunity to learn from incredibly talented members of [the education] profession. Each position has introduced her to men and women who are committed to doing what is best for children. Each opportunity has challenged and stretched Julie’s thinking. Each situation has affirmed the importance of teachers and principals working together within a collaborative educational framework. Each responsibility has prepared her for this wonderful opportunity to lead the work and serve the members of OAESA.

On a personal note, Julie is married to a wonderful man, Bill Davis, also an educator. They are the proud parents of five grown children, and six delightful grandchildren.
