Tracy Hilliard

Tracy Hilliard is a 2018 Maryland National Distinguished Principal and Planning Principal for Urbana Elementary School, Opening 2020, in Frederick, Maryland. During Tracy’s tenure she has earned awards and accolades. As a teacher Tracy was a nominee for the Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year. Her accolades as a principal include serving as the principal of a 2016 Maryland Blue Ribbon School and 2017 National Blue Ribbon School. Tracy was named a 2018 National Distinguished Principal of the Year. Tracy has had the privilege to be the principal of  the 2017 FCPS Teacher of the Year and the 2017 Frederick County nominee for the Washington Post Teacher of the Year.  Tracy was recognized by the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated for her Educational Leadership.  She has been an instructor and presenter for the Johns Hopkins Center for Technology in Education and has served on many Frederick County Public School committees including the Principal’s Advisory Council,  Staffing Committee, Geometry Curriculum Committee,  CommUNITY Forum panelist and Project Manager for Feeder Redistricting. Tracy currently servers as a mentor in the inaugural National Association of Elementary School Principals and AASA , The School Superintendent’s Association’s  National Aspiring Principal Academy.
