Community Service

“Veteran’s Day & Sailor Dinner Collection”

Student Council helped collect items for a sailor dinner. We worked with the other three schools in our district to collect items and create bags for each sailor who attended a special dinner. Our school collected packs of gum. Students put together a collection, ran the collection, came up with an incentive for the winning class, they made cards for the sailors, worked with a teacher and community member to get the items picked up, awarded the winning class, and shared out collection updates. Students also escorted and helped with our school’s Veterans day assembly and breakfast.  

Student Leadership

“Candy Grams and Antioch Traveling Closet”

Student Council organized an opportunity for students and staff members to send positive messages and a piece of candy to others in the school via Candy Grams. People pay 50 cents for each Candy Gram. The profits earned from the collection were given to the ATC to support efforts of a local community organization that provides material essentials to families in need. Then, students volunteered at the Antioch Traveling Closet to understand how to organization works & who they money helps.
