NAESP's Annual Board of Directors Election

Each year NAESP members elect a president-elect and zone leaders to serve on the NAESP Board of Directors. The Board is dedicated to leading the Association efficiently and effectively, pursuing the Association’s bold mission and goals. In 2009, NAESP began conducting its election electronically, giving eligible members the opportunity to vote easily and quickly at their computers.

Potential candidates submit their materials to the NAESP Nominating Committee in the fall. The Committee presents the names of two candidates for each of three zone director positions and the president-elect to the executive director. The executive director then oversees “preparation and sending of ballots during and/or following the NAESP Convention. The ballots may be sent to members as paper ballots, e-mail, facsimile, or another form of electronic ballot, but any member shall be entitled to cast only one form of the ballot … An Election Audit Board of not less than three (3) members shall be appointed by the President to oversee the opening and counting of the ballots and to certify the election results.” (NAESP Bylaws)

The NAESP Election Audit Board met at the Association headquarters office on May 17, 2010, to certify the ballot count as received from VoteNet for the election.
