Gear Up for Your School Year with September "Principal"

Communicator
Setpember 2012, Volume 36, Issue 1

The Sept/Oct issue of Principal magazine offers three publications in one, packed with resources to help you kick off your school year.

First is NAESP’s brand-new newsletter, PRincipal Communicator, brought to you in partnership with the National School Public Relations Association. It’s designed to help you tell your school’s story, especially championing the “Power of the Principal.” Don’t miss this month’s pieces on preparing for flu season and communicating with a diverse school population.

Also mailed alongside this issue is the 20-page Champion Creatively Alive Children special supplement, which for the second year is generously sponsored by Crayola. With pieces on the arts opportunity gap, building a creative leadership team, and more, the supplement offers inspiring strategies for integrating arts education.

Sept/Oct Principal focuses on an initiative affecting most schools in the nation: implementation of the Common Core standards. Click through Principal online to explore Common Core tips, solutions, and top resources from principals from around the country. Plus, don’t miss the first article in our series on early-career principals, “Working Poductively With Difficult and Resistant Staff,” and our new department highlighting innovation.
