Develop Student Leadership and Recognize Student Success

February 2013, Volume 37, Issue 6

Recognize your student leaders with the President’s Education Awards Program and resources from The American Student Council Association.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, in partnership with NAESP and the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the President’s Education Awards Program (PEAP) is a way for principals to recognize and honor those students who have achieved high academic goals through hard work and dedication to learning. Each award includes an embossed certificate signed by President Barack Obama, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and you, plus a congratulatory letter from Obama. Lapel pins are also available for only $1.50 each to present to students at your awards ceremony.

Founded in 1987, the American Student Council Association (ASCA) is the leading resource for elementary school student councils. As a member of ASCA, principals and their student council advisors receive discounts on products and services, participation in a nationwide network of student council leaders, and the opportunity to be recognized with the Student Council Excellence Award.

The cost for membership is $50 for NAESP members and $75 for non-members. Join today!
