National Leaders Conference 2021

NAESP’s National Leaders Conference (NLC) gathers elementary and middle-level principal leaders from across the country in the nation’s capital to build attendees’ leadership skills, knowledge around how federal policies and programs impact principals and schools, and how to advocate on these issues. The 2021 meeting, held February 21-24, took place virtually, providing an opportunity for all NAESP members to participate. Sessions included discussions on how education funding was impacted by COVID, education policy priorities in states, and what to expect on K-12 issues from the new Administration and Congress in 2021.

Keynoting this year’s NLC was Charlie Cook, Editor and Publisher of The Cook Political Report, widely considered to be one of the nation’s most respected and impartial analyst of American politics, elections and political trends. With his encyclopedic knowledge, memorable stories, quick wit, and meaningful insights, Charlie Cook focuses on the broad implications of the latest election results and forecasts what to expect in upcoming elections.
